Hi all,
I am new to digital photography and this is my first post to this forum. I really enjoy looking at, and learning from all the pics and info on this forum.
I shot this pic of one of my dogs this afternoon. He IS working sheep, but it is a real challenge to get everyone in a close range shot-- but I'm working on it! :D
Question though?...I notice that the color displayed on the web page does not nearly match what I see in PS--Is there something I should change it to in order to make it look better on the web?
Thanks

What a beautiful dog! Im new here too but maybe it would help pulling some contrast and pushing some darkness.

Thanks Jessica.
I think you are right--I tweaked it a bit and I think it is better. Yes?
One of the tough things about shooting these black dogs--is contrast and shadows. Takes a bit of learning and lots of practice.

Try using the "save for web" option in PS and save as a .gif.

Thanks Aethyr,
I replaced the second picture--saved for the web-.gif-100% dither.
I don't see a lot of difference--I think I like what I see in PS better than what I see here because there is a darker grey background in PS behind the pic --that probably makes it contrast better than the white.

That's because of your viewing options in PS. Try to assign a profile to the Jpeg like Adobe RGB 1998 (Edit -> color settings-> Adobe RGB 1998 ) then in the viewing options choose Windows RGB (view -> prooof set-up -> Windows RGB).
That seems to work for me.
BTW, nice shot of a very nice dog.

Good pic of a workin' dog working... i love how you can see the focus of the dog's attention in it's eyes. Keep them pics comin'

Thanks all! I've got a few more--I'll post when I get a chance.
Jaime--you nailed it---I have to view it in the windows rgb--and adjust it accordingly. I think you can see a difference now.
Thanks. I learned something!;)

Wow, that second picture [the one with all the leaves] is good... the DOF is just perfect with enough of the foreground showing out of focus to really emphasize it. :D
