Hi,

has any of you used compact flash cards type I with Canon D60? I noticed a remarcable difference in price (and in speed) with some of the type I cards and I was guessing if they are as reliable and work as well as type II. Canon specification allow for use of both, but I would rather avoid unpleasant surprises.

Any imput welcome.

Max

Well I did what I should have done in the first place...I did a search in the forum database and I got enough information to keep me going for a few hours.

This is a great forum.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have owned a 1Gb MD for about 6 months and I have a 512 Mb CF, but I was thinking in terms of safety. When I travel to places like Brazil or Italy I usually fill those cards up with images, which implies that if one or both of the cards fails or gets damaged by rough handling I will have lost all or most of my work. So my solution is to spread my images within several 256 Mb CF cards, so that when disaster strikes I will have probably something to use.
The reason for the question about type I and II is because I got confused by the advertising of a CF card that I saw on Ebay which lead me to believe that there was some other kind of type I card which is different from what I am already using. Also the price was soooo good that I just thought there may be something about type I that I just wasn't aware of, and I needed to find out.

I am making a several month trip to Africa. I too have 1 Gb MD and 512 Mb CF, but I am taking a notebook to store the picutures and a CD burner for backups.
