The boots and dog tags are my brothers. I made this image while he slept a few days before he had to leave. I gave him a print of this image seconds before he got on a plane to go to Iraq and I told him how much I admire him. He had no idea I used his boots and tags...There wasn't a dry eye between us...
Lighting was a large soft box. Boots were placed on a cardboard box covered in white fabric. Back ground was another sheet of white fabric. The only manipulation done was a few wrinkles were removed from the white fabric, slight image sharpening and a little splash of color.
