These are four of the Legacy Engines the UP maintains -
the numbers are the year in which the railroad named was merged into the UP system.
These were shot at Neff Yard in Kansas City.

The engine block itself produces 4300 horsepower, but it's not 100% efficient, so not all of the 4300 horses make it to the rail. These particular locomotives have a starting tractive effort of about 190,000 lbs and a continuous tractive effort of about 155,000 lbs.

Actually there are 6 "Heritage" locomotives. The two you forgot are the 4141, George Bush Library & Museum Locomotive in the Air Force One paint Scheme and 1983 for the Western Pacific RR. Great shots though and I enjoy seeing trains photos here, keep it up!

thanks. I have never had the chance to shoot the feather river engine. Never came anywhere I was close to.
The GHWB engine was in townonce, but I didnt get to take a shot of her.
