Just had these images of Tiger expire in their licensed use period all taken with the 1D MkIII using a 400 f2.8 lens with the exception of the bunker shot which was taken in 2006 with my trustee 30D!! The remaining three were taken at Carnoustie in 2007. Tiger is so missed these days and I for one look forward to his return in 2009

Super clean Chris. I would love to see start of the down swing with the club flexing in the second. Golf has been pretty boring with out Tiger this year. I think Anthony Kim is going to give Tiger a run this year and make for some excitement.

Great shots.
Don't know if you are shooting a pro event, but when shooting golf, if you value your media pass to the event, you wont shoot a single frame until the ball has been contacted by the club head. I know of a photographer who was publicly yelled at by a pro after shooting a frame during backswing. Obviously with a 400, you are far enough away that the golfer most likely wont hear the shutter, just be careful!
Again, I love the shots, nice to see Tiger in action!

All the shots were taken during practice rounds I am totally aware of the pre-impact rule that applies to all media certificated photographers.
I always make sure that if taking any pre-impact shots that I am downwind of the players and to date NO player has ever shouted or even looked at any burst of shots taken and yes a 400ml lens gets you a fair distance away (at least 30 metres)
Thank you all for your kind comments on the shots everyone :D

Nice shots Chris! Excellent sharpness and composition. You don't see Tiger wearing sunglasses too often either.
I can't wait for him to come back next year, I don't think I watched a single tournament since he went out.

Thanks for all your comments guys, it's appreciated. I agree Tiger has been missed certainly in the UK as he has not appeared here since Carnoustie where I took the shots. At this years Open at Birkdale mosts pro togs missed him badly.
Lets hope he has a safe return in 2009, I look forward to his return to these shores at Turnberry in July.

Miss the Tiger! I was contracted this year to take PGA golf shots--- and when Tiger cancelled the organization that hired me decided they did not need any PGA stuff. :(

Scott,
That is exactly what I mean!! He is "The man"
I think he must be chomping at the bit waiting to get back to playing especially as Sergio Garcia is catching him up on the Sony World Rankings list :-)

It will be nice to have him back and bringing back the inspiration to the game. It is amazing how flat it is without Tiger.

Nice, you cannot be heard by him with the 400? You are far enough away? TC? Thanks, I just ordered a 400 2.8 myself.

With the 400 f/2.8 you are about 40 metre's away so as long as the wind is not blowing towards him no he will not hear you.
I have since started using a 300 f/2.8 with an1.4 extender much lighter and easier to carry around 18 holes :-)
