This is about my beloved Canon EOS10D that I purchased about a year and a half ago. This camera has taken me to a NEW HIGH with my motorsports photography business. I LOVED this thing so much I recently purchased another, only to find that the accessory in question (BG-ED3 grip) has been put on the LONG LEAD BACKORDER list. This came from Canon itself....... I must say that I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in this industry practice...i.e., production of something new (?, the grip for the 20D) will far out way the steadfast lovers of the 10D. Canon could not even tell me when this piece would become available again and suggested that I try a number of other (other than ABE's of Maine) stores to find it, Ebay was even suggested. Like most spoiled persons I want it now !.... and at a reasonable price too. Most places that I have checked have discontinued this piece......please CANON.... my race season is approximately 3 weeks away with only a maybe of an ebay auction OR needing to spend OUTRAGIOUS PRICES for the BG-ED3. Whats UP????????????

I never had the bigED but thought someday when there was a replacememnt for the 10D perhaps the price would drop and I would get one. Looked around, online, for one the other day and no luck. I never really saw a need for it, for my use anyway. So I'll check everyonce in a while and when I'm the last one on earth to have the 10D maybe I can get one for cheap.

BigED or not ... "let's hear it for the 10D!!!!"

The 10D (or any other camera that uses the same grip) is no longer being produced so I can understand why the grip for it is no longer being produced as well.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma acquiring the grip for your other 10D. Hope you find one soon.

I didīnt vote because i bought the BigED at the time i purchased my 10D :)

Thatīs actually what i always do. No matter if it is a camera or something else. If i believe i need those accessories then i buy them right on with the main article. You know.... electronics (models) change fast.

Regards
Ed

Yes, "xuxu1" I too ordered the grip with my first 10D, and I did again with the second. Its JUICE is needed for some of my lenses, when shooting into the night. I ordered my second 10D from ABE's and when I asked the order person about the BG-ED3 grip (because I did not see it on their site) he said "oh yes we have that.....". Nowing full well whats up he could have told me and he still would have gotten my order AND respect....... for being honest. Instead he took the order, when I recieved it the backorder for the BG-ED3 was apparent.......BUT they also charged me for the FULL AMOUNT even though the item was backordered. SO BEWARE...... not just of The seller BUT of manufacturers..in the future.
