Is the EOS D60 compatible with the newer tech. compact flash cards such as San Disk Ultra ll or San Disk Extreme? I'm not able to find this info. anywhere and don't want to spend the money to find out it won't work. Thanks!

Hi,

Rob Galbraith has a fantastic CF Database where the write/read speeds of different cards are recorded for various cameras.

Check it out at: http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007

I just looked and he has tested the cards that you mentioned in the Canon D60. This confirms (as I suspected) that the cards work but that the available speed of the Card is not utilised.

Cheers

Thanks for the info. and the link to the website, Michael. :D I guess I'll stick with the original speed CF's and just up the gb's.

CF cards are type I and type II. The type II cards are thicker and wont fit in some cameras that only have type one slots.

Thanks, Pete. I've been using the type ll, 1 gb and getting pretty good results. I'm going to move up to the type ll, 2 or 3 gb next.

Pete, that really is not an issue with a D60.

From what I understand a 2GB card is as large as you can go in a D60. 3GB cards won't work.

Thanks, G. It's probably a little greedy of me to go all the way up to 3 gb, anyway :D

This is Correct,. A D60 will not use more than 2GB per card.
