Gray Balancer Epson 2200/2100

I have been reading Epson's guide re their gray balancer and am still a little confused (no surprise there).

If I'm using Colour Management in PSCS and not the Printer's management, how exactly will this affect my output?

Are their any good idiot's guides to this?

Thanks for the link, Scott. There is also an article about printing B&W with the Epson 2200. I tried it and it made a 100% improvement. Comparable ( I think) to a commercial print. The "muddy" look is gone!

I'm glad it helped. I was surprised at how well the canned profiles in the printer driver compared to the ICC profiles.
