Please Help!!!
The colors on the photo printed from my S900 Canon printer are quite faint (ie. too light) on all the color specially red, cyan, blue. The Red looks like dark pink, the blue (sky color) is not really blue, the gray is too light.

The picture used standard sRGB profile and the printer is on provided Canon driver. I print it with High quality, ICM & without ICM, Photo Optimizer ON using Photo Pro paper.

I also calibrated my monitor to ensure the color sync to my real shot but the print is quite disappointed.

My PC is on Window XP Pro, Video card Geforce II, monitor Samsung 955DF 19-inc at high resolution!! I also set the monitor tone at 6500K with all Red, Blue, Green at the center...

Your help would be much appreciated..

Note: I did try to install Photoshop 7 & try to control the color management using Adobe SRGB 1998 but to no avail so I decided to uninstall that.

I've been getting rich, vibrant colors with my S900 and PhotoPro Paper. Have you tried the nozzle cleaning procedure?

I have the same problem, and solved it as follows:
When printing, I go to the printerproperties of my S900 printer, and add "5" (using the slider) for the 3 colors. I leave the black intact.

In general, this gives good output, and comes almost as a 1 to 1 match with the pictures I send to a lab to print.

Hope this helps.

Just one quick point, sRGB is generally more useful for on-screen images. Try converting to AdobeRGB 1998 in Photoshop to see if it makes any difference.

Also, when you print, do a "print with preview" and drop the box in the bottom left quarter to (I think) "Printer color management". Check that it is set to use the printer's colour management.

Hope this helps!

NB. Sorry if some of the detail above is slightly out - I am away from my main PC and I don't have Photoshop on this one I am using so this is from memory ....

When I first got my canon S900 I was very impressed with the results. But since misplacing my original driver CD, downloading and installing drivers from Canon's drivers site, my results have been nothing short of atrocious. I have done everything recommended on this page ie.. adjusting colour bars, installing and using Adobe RGB 1998 in Photoshop. Calibrating my monitor the results are the same "Crappy". Poor quality...Poor colours!!! I just want to be able to print a basic high quality picture on plain paper for school projects etc.. I am not wanting print house quality - just some quality will do!! I'd assume that there is one Canon S900 driver that works for all S900 printers for all countries....right? Please Help!
