its starting to snow in minnesota today. wanting to take some landscape type photos where i can clearly see the nice little flakes coming down in the scene. got out the brian peterson book and saw the he isolated rain drops using an extension tube,,but,,i dont have an extension tube. ive tried every combination i can think of (av,tv,m) and cant get a decent shot. ANY ADVISE APPRECIATED:o

2 options to try;

- Freeze the flakes in the foreground using a flash...

- Use a slow shutter speed, low ISO & small aperture to create a "blizzard" effect...

Oh - and remember to use at least +1 EC to get white (not grey) snow!

Cheers;

Try using a tripod; a longish lens; ISO100; f/8 or f/11; +1EC, and let the camera set the speed...

If that doesn't work - just bracket around the parameters until you get something you like... There's no fixed or firm rules for doing this (that I'm aware of anyway...) it's just trial & error.

Good luck;
