hey how do you like yoru a510? i JUST GOT mine a couple days ago, just been messing with it but I do like the quality, very nice. Great price. Durable too, I dropped it pretty hard on a hard counter top, and on top of that, while it was faling I tried to grab it and I went to grab it but I just pushed it harder into the counter top, cause I like swung my hand at it quick. I checked everything and made sure that my mom's camera made the same noises as mine, making sure I didnt' make anything loose or somethign, but they both have some weird clicky noise when you move it back and forth quick. also when about to zoom it makes a click, but I guess it's normal. I just always seem to drop everything I get that is new and not meant to be thrown. but anyway, great quality camera.

i havent had my a510 for that long either. so far i have no complaints. its a fun little camera to mess around with and theres enough shooting modes to keep you busy for awhile. and you really cant beat that price for such a cool camera! hope you will enjoy your a510 as much as i have

Go to www.bhphoto.com - it's the best place for photography equipment in general. :)

I made a recent purchase on ebay what as supposed to be for a .4x wide angle, plus proper adapter tube. The seller's description said "will include proper adapter for your camera" and the title of the description claimed it was for an a510/520. It is not compatible, even though it will mount on. The 510 and 520's lenses will extend further out and hit the attached lens. The seller was "panwebi". so beware.

Most adapters require a spacer for certain lenses. I had a lensmate adapter for an S45 I used to own and with some of my lenses the cameras lens would hit the add-on lens unless I used a spacer ring.... :mad:

I just spoke with their customer service, and they are declaring that it IS the correct set of adapter+lens. They stated that I need to have it set to a certain zoom, then focus it from there.. however at 0x zoom, it is still too far extended to use the attachment. It will fit at around 2x zoom, but that defeats the purpose of having the wide angle. I am still trying to get to the bottom of this.

more to add. here is my last email to them:::
""""""""I spoke with customer service today who stated what I was sent is supposed to function with my camera, but I need to have it set to 1x zoom to use it. It was also mentioned that using the zoom with the wide angle "defeats its purpose".
The lens+adapter will only fit on with the zoom set to 2-3x. It is fully extended at 1x and 4x. It will not focus at 2x-3x, and having it zoomed merely to fit the adapter on "defeats its purpose".
I also read this::
Canon A85/A75/A70/A60
The lens adapter for the Canon A85/A75/A70/A60 might appear the same as the adapter for the Canon A95/80, but they are different. Both the 37mm and 52mm adapters for the A85 are shorter in length than the A95 adapter. The lenses on the two cameras are entirely different.
The adapter I was sent says it is for the a85/75/70/60, not the a95, and doing more research, the a510/510 cameras telescope further than those older models. You may with to double check before you sell more of these to people saying they are compatible with the a510/520.
What may be done about my order in the meantime? I cannot use the product you sent me.""""""""

An ebay store called sharperphoto managed to get me a combination of .38x wide angle lens (bower), tube adapter, and an addl 3-4mm adapter so it will work with the a510. We had a discussion about how previous tube adapters for the later canon a models were just a little too short.

The pics look very good. I will post some later tonight.
