Yep... it's more field hockey again. My previous hockey posts have generated zero interest. Not sure if that's down to the sport or my photos!?? Anyway... here we go again with some shots from this afternoon's match between Old Loughtonians and Bedford...

Iv always been interested, and think thier great photos!
I played a bit in highschool, and you capture the action extremly well, not easy given the pace of the game :)

Keep posting them please, even if I don't comment I am looking at them

That is not a sport that is common where we live. I love the facial expressions.

Thanks for your comments Moppie... much appreciated... and you're 100% right to say that little ball moves mighty fast!

Here in the states, Field Hockey isn't nearly as big as it is everywhere else in the world.

Photos are great :D I can't wait for nicer weather here so the outdoor sports begin again!

Those are great shots. The intense look on the faces is really eye catching.

I think the interest difference was due to shorts and skirts ;)

Excellent shots as always! :D

Cheers pdrow. They certainly take this sport very seriously - the team in yellow is seeking promotion to the very top level of English Hockey, so that probably explains their focus!

Excellent images ... I've seen this played a few times at a high school and I think here at the University, too. I really like the expressions, too! Fine piece of work.

Thanks everyone... I really appreciate all your comments. Even though this is the top level of hockey in the UK, it gets very little coverage nationally and very little support by way of paying spectators! The standard is extremely high though and the game is played at an incredible pace, which makes it a great challenge to photograph... making it all the more enjoyable!
