Interesting architecture
Thanks, yes it is very interesting, I think it was built back in the 1930's It's a drinking water supply for Hartford, CT and some of the surrounding towns, about 30 miles away.

It reminds me a little of the intake towers at Hoover Dam. Interesting looking building.

I really like both of those. Did you do something special to the door in the second one. It really seems to stand out.

Not really, just a little brightening and some minor USM . The door really does stand out in real life. Thanks all for the comments.

Beautiful detail. Even though you had one of those white-sky-days, the available light was very good quality.
I love composition on both, even if #2's subject is center-center, it works very well in your pic.
What lens were you using?

I agree, wow, so many more places to visit. After seeing all these images, I decided to start traveling a bit more again.... Nice shot, specially the second. Can't wait to see more of your landscape/arch. pictures and hope you continue to like the lens.

Thought I'd post this one again showing a different angle to the gatehouse and it's location. What I'll try to do is get back there and take a shot of the other side of the dam, and the lake that is used for Recreation.

More nice shots, Sandy. That lens is a real sharp one. Seems like you're having a tough time staying home lately. ;)

Thanks Marie; No they where both (the first 2) taken at the same time. I think the fact that there was an awful of reflection off of the snow and ice on the lake that and a very bright blue sky day it fooled the meter. I didn't bother to adjust the exposure. I just love the door on that stone access to the controls on the dam. (I think)

I just answered about the door in my other reply
but want to say ...when I said about the first shot I only meant because of the water and scene around included ,
it showed most of what I was meaning as regards a story book picture.
the lighting etc
:)
