Ok, Iv really missed the contest, it was a great chance for me to get out and shoot, and push the limits of myself and my camera.
Unforunalty for a variety of reasons it seems to have fallen by the way side.
Tommy started a thread about it, with some very good ideas regarding its resurection, and Peka mentioned that the next release of his software will be very contest friendly.
At that point it appears the resurection was put on hold.
Since we don't know when the contest may be started up properly again I would like run a little one myself, with all the draw backs the old one had.
Ill use my photobucket account, upload the imaes and count the votes myself.
Iv done this sort of thing before (taking submissions and finding a winner) so I know whats involved.
The winner can continue on, and if unwilling then 2nd place can give it ago etc etc.
If there is enough interest, and a Moderator is willing to sticky the odd thread and prehaps put up a forum wide annoucment, Ill start a thread with the contest details in the "Other" Section on Monday

i never entered contests here before b/c scared if i won the running of the contest would be too hard to handle, not want to mess it up.
Are you saying that you are taking the job over?
i might enter in that case. SMILE

Well Ill run the first one.
Then who ever wins can take over the 2nd one, if they don't want it, it can go down the list untill it gets back to me, and Im prepared at the moment to keep doing it untill someone else feels like having a turn :)
Iv run contests before, (not photo ones) and they not really as much of a fuss as people think they are, its actualy quite fun.

Moppie, it seems like we were thinking on the same lines. I have just posted something very similar here:

Cool.
I was thinking last night I wonder if someone will start one in another forum and then wonder in here and read this :D
All that is needed then is a mod to sticky your post, and hopefuly make a forum wide anouncment.

The purpose of the thread I started was to minimize the administration part of running the contest because You are not the only one that don't participate for that reason (myself included ;) ). Since Pekka stated that the ideas I had for the software to run the contest would be available in the next release of Exhibit Engine I have not gone further with the task of creating software for it.

Julie/Tommy,
To try and keep the discussion in one place, I’ve raised this issue on the contest thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=59745). Could you have a look and give me your comments there?
THanks
