Great shots, for some reason I really love the one of the dock. But all are very good.

Thanks for the comments. Much appreciated.

I've printed the dock/jetty image at 20"x16" for my Dad. It looks really good on the wall. It was hard to shoot. There were kids running up and down the jetty, so I had to be quick. It was handheld so I had to open up the apature for a steady shot, but that meant that the bottom of the image is slightly out of focus because of the narrower depth of field.

All are really good. The color of the water in # 2 is special to me, and it's a very dramatic scene.

The one with the dock looks like a dream.

Amazing shots! I would have to say my favourite shots are either the first one, or "Yosemite"

Keep up the good work!

There were kids running up and down the jetty, so I had to be quick.

That explains the little footprints! They really add an atmosphere to the picture, although it would still be a fantastic shot if they weren't there. The dock is also my favourite of the bunch

Beautiful pictures!

Did anybody ever tell you that the one on the dock is especially wonderful

The colours ... the tranquillity ... and the simplicity of the shot.
And then you notice the little footsteps and it becomes even more precious.
Very well done.

Best regards,
Andy

Many thanks for the great feedback. I appreciate it very much and it pleases me that people enjoy my work.

Here's a modified version of the 'dock/bay' image: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/15682849

Not quite a tranquil, but this was a special request.

Thanks.

Some great work there!
The Yosemite just shows how "grand" it really is.

And the little footprints on the wharf are cool. I wonder how many people notice, if they didn't know people were on it just before. Makes a feeling of eerie silence.. Or the "gone".

Great shots but "Bay" really stands out. Where the colours really like that? What time did you shoot it? It must look really nice on your dad´s wall!

Love the dock..almost sureal. Can you share some shot info on that..filters, processing...

The 2nd Majorca brings back memories of 20 odd years ago in Palma...remember sitting on the cliffs trying to do a self portrait (I need to look for that slide).

I took the photo about 15-20 minutes after a thunder storm. There wasn't much rain at all, but it was very humid. It was taken at around 7PM (think) on the around the beginning of September last year.

The colours were exactly like they are in the photo. I took around 50 photos of that area because of the colours and the calm sea.

I used a Canon 10D with a Canon 28-135 IS USM lens and a Jessops Skylight filter.

Post processing: I removed a slight yellow/green tint from the photo, lightened the mid-tones a bit, and increased the contrast slightly to compensate for the lightening, cropped the bottom off and sharpened it a bit using the high-pass filter in Photoshop.

Because there were kids running around, I had to be quick. I managed to squeeze of 3 photos because someone walked in front of me.

I didn't have a tripod, and so I opened up the apature to get more light in, but unfortunately, that made the bottom of the image slightly out of focus because of the narrow DOF. Wish I'd used a higher ISO now.

Wonderful pictures, I guess I'm with the majority here, I like the dock shot best, but all are outstanding.
A computer challanged question: How do you get several shots embedded like that? I thought we could only attach two photos at once. Thanks Mark

Do you mean how did I attach more than two photos to this thread?...

...I'm hosting the images on my own web server, and simply posted a link here.
