I just picked up the energizer 15 minute charger and 20 2500mLh batteries for my 3 flash guns. A 550ex on camera and two vivitar 283 slaves. I realy dont want the batteries just tossed into a pocket of my bag.
Anyone have any sugestions on keeping them organized and identifiable as to witch are charged and witch are dead. Maybe some kind of case or something.
Thanks

We use two plastic sandwich bags and mark them with perminant marker on a piece of tape.
Or, if you can pick up a couple of zip pencil cases (that usually grade school kids use to hold their supplies) they would probably be more durable.

for my fuji 3800 i have 3 sets of 4 rechargebles for it. i used a different colored permanent marker for each set. from time to time i have to redo that as it gets worn off though. but i have one set in camera, one set in a side pocket of the bag and a third set in the interior mesh pocket.
works like a dream for me. of course i did not have to change batteries all that much as i would get 250-300 shots from a set. but still put the effort into organization.

This is the case I use... And if you order batteries from them, they come with a free case.

If you end up getting cases for them, there's an easy way to keep them organized. If the batteries are good, keep them pointed the same way. If they're used, they probably came out some pointing up and some pointing down, so put them back in the case that way. Simple.

I keep mine in sets of 4, usually with one set in each flash and the spare sets in the little slots that my Tamrac bags have for the storage of batteries, film, or memory cards. I only have 3 sets of rechargeables, but I also carry a pack of Alkalines for emergencies.
If I were shooting weddings where I had to rotate several sets, I'd probably get one of those organizers as mentioned before, and possibly even mark my batteries to keep track of what's charged, what's not, and the age of them.

What i do is get some colored tape, cut it into thin strips and give each set of batteries there own ring of color near the top. And also I have a AA holder case which has room for 20 batteries, in sets of 4, and then on the side i put a strip of each colored tape, and so when one set of batteries runs out i just peel the tape off the side of my case and then i know i cant use them anymore.
Thats how i do it anyways, im sure there are simpler solutions but im used to my method.
