Something my brother showed me :

Looks like a 5D to me.
I guess he's a Canon user too (not a doctored pic, posted by TIME).
Sorry if this is a repost.

Could be that he just borrowed the Time photographer's camera..... Doubtful he downloaded, processed and emailed the shot to the photographer.

Left hand resting underneath/to side of lens on focus and zoom ring ;)
Anyway, clearly Callie Shell had a spare camera he wanted to use during his shoot for them :p

OMG, doesn't he have better things to do besides waste his time taking pictures? Does anyone know how much he spends on that stuff? Does he really think he needs that expensive equipment to take pictures he will never see a profit from? Oh well, I guess I can't criticize him TOO much.

"Mr. Obama, the top right. The button on the top right. Dont change the settings, please."
LOL
I love how when you hand your camera to someone, these are the first words to them. My friends do that to me. "Hey, take our picture..." Then they give a brief tutorial on how to use a digital camera.

Could be, I dunno.
If it is, at least we know TIME uses a fine camera.
I think he likes photography. He's got his own flickr site.

yeah....but they make it sound like its his personal site.
Plus, if he has time to update his flickr site (especially from here on out), I'd be concerned.

Obviously he did not read the DPReview evaluation. Otherwise, he'd be using a 40D.:)

The guy in the background is posing pretty good.
His first speech as President should go something like this:
"My fellow Americans I stand before you today with a plan to reboost the economic meltdown. I want to give all my friends at POTN a $15,000 tax free stimulas package. That way all my photography friends can buy new bodies, new lenses, and editing software."

I take exception to this statement. One never wastes time taking pictures. Even if they're all duds, one can learn from one's mistakes.
And cut the guy some slack. Even the most powerful man in the world can't be "on" 24/7.

Exactly - everyone needs a hobby of some sort.
