Hey guys,

I would just like some C&C on this image. I wanted to convey something sad..as if a child was swinging on it at one time, but now he/she is no longer there. I wish I had some motion blur on it, but I can always go back. I also know the tree is a little distracting, but the other photo I have has a big bush on the side. Oh and this image has had no boost in contrast, saturation and has not been sharpened.

I like it. There is a little bit much going on in the background, birds or ducks, which kind of took me away from the swing. But I like it :)

It is a great shot. I don't necessarily think that the presence of the tree and ducks and other things in the back are necessarily inherently distracting. The tree is a bit distracting, but not because of it's general presence. It is becuse of the proximity to the swing. If the swing didn't cover it I think it would be fine, but it disrupts the lines created by the two. That said, I love this shot. The contrast in the swing is great. I love the way the shadows move across it.

Now, you say there was no change in saturaion. That is kinda amazing to me. Is the feel of the shot achieved by the WB?

And as for wishing for motion, I am not sure i agree. I think that if you are trying to evoke a lonely feeling, the stillness works.

Oh yeah, any EXIF?

Thanks for the comment! And when I said the tree was distracting..I also meant that the location of the tree was distracting..I have a shot with the tree further to the left, but there is a horrible looking shrub on the right haha...

EXIF per request..:)

No contrast or boost in saturation, but it was given a tweak in curves..I basically converted this image to black and white and decided to give it a lomo action. WB was unchanged, but in order to have the image in that color I believe I played around with a color overlay layer. Oh and this is one of my 1st shots that I shot in RAW ;).
