This is my first attempts at taking shots of football under floodlight conditions.Set iso at 1600 and auto white balance, taken with 70-200 f2.8 at 2.8.Any advice for these kind of conditions?

These look more than ok to me, but as a general rule, how are you determining your shutter speed?
If you're shooting in Av and letting the camera decide, you can get some horrible under/over exposures dependant on the team colours. If you can, take a light meter reading and shoot in manual mode. Also, take a reading with your light meter dome tilted downwards at about 45 degrees so that you get more of an ambient light reading, rather than getting the floodlights shining directly onto it and getting a false reading.
There again, if that's what you already do, I've just wasted both of our time!

I have been using av, keeping lens at 2.8 and kept watching that shutter speeds are fast enough. You are correct i got some way out exposures and was shooting jpegs for speed.
Will give the light meter a try.

Great exposures!
I would have to recommend shooting RAW take advantage of being able to adjust exposure a bit as well as white balance.
