Nice shots, I remeber doing some picture taking when al my buddies were skateboardin. It's harder than it looks, especially to get them in the air.

Very nice! I like the first one ... the B&W gives it a cool, gritty, urban look.

thanks for the comments :) yeah it isn't easy, especially when there are 20 or more skaters all around. you have to be willing to give up some skin (hit by boards/skaters or falling into bowls/pipes). but it's definitey fun. it also helps being a former skater (ol' sk00l!!!)

these are awsome, i skate/snowboard, and i shoot my friends riding too. so i can appreciate your shots. the expression in all of them is just amazing. Btw, what does "w/fill" mean?

thanks, mate!
even though it's daylight, i used 'fill' flash on my camera bracket, so you can see their faces. basically the shot is still exposed for the ambient light, but the flash 'fills' in detail that may be lost in the picture. that way even if i am shooting with the sun behind them, i don't miss any action (other than when i don't think to take the shot - doh!).
as it gets darker, i generally move a flash off the bracket - remotely triggered shooting from the side, to create shadow to highlight altitude.
