S230 + Simpletech CF Problems

I just got the S230 and a Simpletech 256MB CF card.

The included 16MB Canon CF card works fine. However the Simpletech CF card gives a "CF Card Error".

So I tried to format the Simpletech CF card using the camera - as suggested in previous posts.

When I try to do this I get an "E50" appearing at the bottom left of the LCD. I successfully formatted the 16MB Canon CF card so I know that I'm doing formats right.

Any thoughts?

Hi,
Sounds like you have a bad CF card.
I had the same problem with a Delkin CF card I had and my G2, sent it back to the place of purchase...no questions asked and they sent me a new card.

I also now have the S230 (sold the G2) and couldn't be happier with the camera. Takes awesome photos!!

Good luck with the card and hope you can return it.
