While using Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 on my Apple PowerBook G4, I became aware this week that only the administrator account has access to help files. No help files are available for non-admisistrator accounts. This is a major pain in the ass for me since I have a business and family accounts and us Photoshop in both. Adobe did this on purpose. Why? Who knows. The only way I found this out was to call Adobe. they broke the news. When asked "where in the hell is this documented". The technician referred to document 331147 buried deep in the support section of Adobe's website. Sure enough, there it was...(Not in the "Getting Started" or readme file).Where in the hell was this information when I was doing the research to buy this product...Bastards! Does anyone know if this is true in Photoshop CS? would anyone like to speculate why Adobe would do this?

I feel your pain.
If only administrators can use the help files my question would be how little access can you give someone as an administrator and will that solve the problem?
Single user here so no issue

Why can't you just go inito finder and use info to give everybody read access to the help directory and any other directory that'll be needed to access Elements?

Tried it doesn't work. From document 331147:
Mac OS troubleshooting
1. Log in as a user with administrator access privileges.
The Photoshop Elements 3.0 Help application requires that the user have administrator privileges on Mac OS X.
And I repeat: "Bastards"!

I think you can set specific priviliges for that application. That way everyone can see the help files.

There were comments about this in Macworld's review of elements, and they offered this link for a fix:

Hope it helps.
