The last 3 shots are experimental, composition and shutter speed wise, please let me know if they work for you or not. I know I need to work on panning with slow shutter speed, but sitting at the baseline was a bad choice for what I wanted to capture.

Thanks for looking! :D

What settings did you use? Could you use flash?

If you're referring to conventional shots, they were shot at ISO1600, f1.8, 1/400s on 1D MK II; if you're talking about those slow shutter ones, they were shot at ISO400, f2.8, between 1/15 to 1/25s on 1D.

Hope that answers your questions, oh, no flash allowed at all times :(

good work as usual sGu...i like the idea of the creative shots at the bottom of the post. i have found myself playing around a little bit the last couple of volleyball games i shot with slow shutters and jump serves as well as basketball with gaurds bringin the ball up court. its nice to see others do the same once in a while, i like the effects and i think the perfect slow shutter shot will look so spectacular when captured just the right way...it will just take tons and tons of 'practice' to get it right. thanx for sharing the pics...

Good stuff as always Gu... there's certainly potential in those slow shutter speed shots... you just need a player to keep his head perfectly still while everything else is in motion... it'll happen... eventually!

Thanks fellas! :D

I'll definitely practice more panning when I get the chance to, will choose a courtside position and hopefully result would be better :)
