When shooting things like flowers or other still life objects what do you use for keeping them upright? A small clamp system or similar?

Yer' gonna' think I'm trying to be funny, but I'm not. You asked, so an honest answer: spit. I was shooting flowers and fall leaves the other day and couldn't get things to stop flapping in the wind so I spit on the back of them and stuck them in place. I suppose something else that was sticky would have worked, but I had none and the spit was available and free! :)

HAHA......makes sense though......I guess a piece of gum would have been perfect...........

Or just keep a roll of double sided tape in your bag.....

I use anything that works. Don't limit yourself to "photo" equipment. I have used paper clips, every form of tape there is, different glues, nails, screws, poster putty (for hanging posters on a wall -nonstaining) custom bent paper clips a lot. candle wax (melted in place), coat hangers, bailing wire....... it depends on what you need held in what position. My only considerations are how much does it need to hold, and what will it do to the surface of the item in case it needs to be returned to the customer.

I shoot in the field some and take a couple of short pieces of #14 copper house wire. You can stick it in the ground and use it to steady a plant stem or hold back offending plants.

LOL. Forgot about that in my first post. I also use coat hangers. Take a pair of pliers, clip off the hook, straighten it up and you can bend to any need / shape you want.

But I like the #14 wire idea better - never thought of it. It would be more flexible.
