View Full Version : WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK: PART 138 -- On a Walk
BLS
10th of November 2008 (Mon), 07:16
The theme for this week is "Shots Taken While on a Walk." Be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the topic -- the sky's the limit!
Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snap shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e.,embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=194511 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=194511)
An index to previous weeks can be found here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=170603 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=170603)
That's it! Have fun!

Two walks today. First is from a window shopping trip during lunch, second is the river walk in downtown Wilmington.

Ya gotta love that 1st one, Monty.
Such an interesting mixture of accessories.
There's something for everyone, & the tee shirt is perfect.

Monty,
Did you buy one of those masks?
Here is a photo I grabbed today while out on a walk (before it rained).

LOL -- Well I thought she looked ready for anything! I tried to buy the T-shirt but it wasn't for sale ;-)
Looks like you are having a very wet week there John - if that's before the rain (all that snow melting I guess!).

I saw this as I was walking in the parking lot of a shopping center.
"Can you hear us now?"

Nice Ken... John it looks like you could have used either of these on you walk to keep your feet dry :)
Barbara, sometimes
I feel as if that is how my telephone works.. one like tube. Like using 2 cans and a string !
Monty, that is too funny.. and the second shot is lovely
Hoping to get out today and take a walk.

John, I think we're having the same weather you are. Rain or drizzle mixed with varying amounts of fog. Not inviting for digital cameras.
Ken --Those arched stone bridges are wonderful. Where I live there are only 2 left in the county. One of them is about 3 miles from my home and in need of some repair, but it always makes me smile.

Suggestions for our next theme:
1. Nostalgia
2. Beauty
3. Necessity
Let us hear your preference.
And if you have a theme to suggest, let us hear that too!
Looking forward to more shots being posted.

First, let me say that I saw this concept on POTN of these weekly themes. Such a great idea.
Anyway, took a walk around the neighborhood and fired off some clicks. Ran into my neighbor that just got a new puppy. So, he slowly introduced my 65 pound 2 year old to his new arrival. I guess this qualifies because I was "on the job" for this thread.
Other thing - this is my first posted image taken with my new 1DsMIII body. Shot with 70-200 f/2.8L @ 200mm, 1/640 f/2.8 ISO 1000

Is it too late to post for this theme? I didn't get to do any out of doors walkings as our office was moving to a new building this weekend but I did manage to walk around the new site and took this of the movers. Does that count?

It seems that our voting on a new theme resulted in a tie.
Each of the candidates received the same number of votes: 0. :)
So I guess I will break the tie and declare our new topic to be "Nostalgia."
The new thread is here:

Happy hunting! :)
