I love it! Although i havent been able to take very many photos yet :(
things i like the most:
Speed! This is the first camera ive owned that you can just shoot shot after shot without a pause, just like you see on TV. thats pretty sweet!
Hookups, it is pretty cool that you can hook it up to your computer and shoot without a CF card. Question: Do they sale a longer USB cable so you can have the camera on a tripod and the computer a few feet away?
I am still playing with features, trying to see what does what... what lens to use when... etc...
One thing that is weird, or that im not use to is you can take pics using the LCD screen... whats up with that?
I will post a few pics i took a little later.

You NEED a cf card, sooner the better. You are not going to be teathered to the computer forever.

Well that's great news after all the possible trauma that you could have ended up with... I'm chuffed for you :D
You can't use the LCD screen to take the pics because the mirror that lets you use the viewfinder to look throught he lens is in the way of the image sensor ;-) Took me a while to get used to that too, but it's much MUCH better this way.
Looking forward to seeing your pics :D

Yes, they make longer cords for your USB. Only good for studio work though. Other than that though, get a CF card and reader, it makes life a lot simpler.

I bought 5 m USB extension cable.
With this cable I can set up the camera on a tripod in the balcony and shoot an interval series (using Remote Capture) straight into my PC.
I caught some lightning this way. I will post the picture a couple of hours later when I get home.

you just gave me an interesting idea....
While out on a shoot, take your laptop with you, but have it set to not go into standby when you close the lid. Hook the camera to the laptop, put it in a backpack, and shoot away. The 80gb harddrive in my laptop would make a very nice "compact flash" card :)

Yeah, I particularly love getting that herniated
feeling after twisting the lower back while
bending over to get a shot at floor level.

No, I don't. This is probably one of the most
useless accessories ever created. Besides, squeezing
one eye in order to peek into scopes with the other
will exacerbate premature wrinkles on my beautiful
face!
Repeat after me: Live LCD preview, Live LCD preview, Live LCD preview...!
Thanks for the tip, otherwise...

i've got quite a few of them from sterlingtek.... my question is how well can you focus on an LCD though? I always found it hard and unjust compared to the resulting photo. but that's just me.

That's cool. I keep waiting for us to get a thunderstorm around here so that I can try to get some pictures of lightning... when I was younger I remember we had them all the time, but now they're rare

Just curious, but why do you say this is a useless accessory? I don't own one and haven't used one myself, so I can't say one way or the other, but I can think of a few instances where it'd be handy to have. Also, I have a friend who can look through the viewfinder and take pictures just fine without squinting or closing one eye. I can do it a little, but prefer to just close one eye since I can see better that way.
I guess I'll just get wrinkles faster :(
