How do I do this?
Ive looked for programs that can help me sell my photos on the internet but still havent really found anything that I understand, the program is way to much money for what i would like to do, or just havent found anything that I like.
I would like to take pictures of kids playing sports, a part of photography where a PNS really dosent work too well.
So far I have found:
photo reflect
photo cart
and of course smugmug
but is there anything else?
please help!!!
if there is anyway i could see what some ones website looks like using the program that would be nice as well
thanks alot

I use smugmug and love it. They are very easy to use and customize. They have a two week trial period no credit card required. You can use THIS LINK (https://secure.smugmug.com/signup.mg?referrer=VhGcu3ELjg7bY) to sign up for the trial and the coupon code that is listed will give you $5 off the first year.

the one question i have about smug mug is how much does sending my orders to a lab cost me?
like if have 8x10 prints available for 10 bucks, how much of that 10 bucks am i going to make?
does smugmug have a print lab so that all i have to worry about is taking the pictures, uploading them and thats it? because in reality thats all i want to have to do lol
thanks alot

Smugmug prints with ezprints. All you do is upload, they take care of the printing and shipping to your customers. There price list is HERE (http://www.smugmug.com/prints/catalog.mg). With a pro account you can set your prices for any amount above that. Smugmug keeps 15% of your markup and sends you a check for the rest.
My site is inplainsightphotography.com (http://inplainsightphotography.com) if you want to look at it to get an idea of the customization and layout.

o yeah about the printing question...
does smugmug take 15% and then takes off the cost of the prints?
so like if i sold 8x10's for 10 bucks
10x.15= 1.50 = 8.50 to me
and then 8.50- 1.99= i make a total of 6.51?
is that correct?
thanks alot

Try the search button, there's a TON of threads on this...
Exposure Manager is the best by far IMPO.
www.mikejanesphotography.com - all integrated with EM
Smug uses EZPrints and that is NOT a benefit, they print on auto mode so noone is checking your prints like Exposure Manager does. It's the most costomizable...oh read this...

If you are taking pictures of kids playing sports, find out if you need releases from all to do so. We had instances when I was teaching where certain kids were not allowed to be photographed or videotaped for any reason. One lawsuit will wipe out any profit and then some.

Yes that is correct.
You do have the option to print in True Color with SmugMug. You don't have to print everything in Auto Color Correction. I am not going to get to deep into the EZ prints vs Mpix thing. The one thing I will say is that when I ordered my comparison prints EZ prints won.

EZPrints beat Mpix? Strange. It's been awhile since testing services, may be time to do it again, though don't think a printer on auto can ever beat a trained tech looking over the images. The only two who do that is MPix and Exposure Manager that I have tested.
When deciding also make sure you look at % and other options. 15% vs 10% is more $$ in your pocket. Think there was one company that was 8% but were horrible for my needs, that was years ago so maybe not even in existance anymore.
EDIT: Just did the math, $10 for an 8x10 you get $6.75 from EM, $6.51 from Smuggie. Smuggie templates easier than EM, but EM is more costomizable.

Online orders question (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=501332)
A lot of pros here use PrintRoom @ $99/year
Exposure Manager fee/features comparisons (http://www.exposuremanager.com/scripts/website.pl?rm=compare)
Not my opinion:
NEVER again will I use MPIX! (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=586418)

im not a fan of the way the EM website looks, its looks old and outdated while smugmug looks clean and professional
just my opinion though you pay for what you get
any other options?

You can customize it pretty much any way you want, though not many take advantage of it. Mine's different but hasn't come close to taking advantage of what you can actually do. However, just checking out a friends smuggie site do have to say they seemed to of cleaned some things up I didn't like before. It'd be tougher if they ditched EZPrints to choose, for me at least. The biggest problem though would still be (again just for me) to customize it into the way I have my site which is 3 sites in one.
There are free trials for most, could give a few a try at once and see which one "speaks" to you.

Not to knock on everyone's smugmug discounts, but if you do a quick search for smugmug discounts, you can probably get your first year at 50% off. I used 'flickr' as my discount code, and it dropped me from $149 for a pro account to about 75. If it's still a valid offer, I'd go with that one in a heartbeat.
