Hi, everybody, on Saturday Night Judas Priest gave the first of two shows in Buenos Aires. I have had access to the pit (very close to the stage, btw). All shots taken with 50D and 24-105 f4 IS L. Sorry about the size of hte pics, but they are resized for the web page of the radio station I work for.

Hope U like them.

Nice composition but the white balance looks to be off and they are pretty soft (probably caused by motion blur but could be focus - hard to tell without knowing what settings you were using).

What settings were you using on the photos?

Pretty cool action...

What settings were these taken at? Looks like the IS on your lens made it possible to get some reasonable results...

Thanks, Black. The settings were a mix between Av mode (f4), then M mode f4 1/100 Iso 1000. AF on single shot (donīt trust AI SErvo too much). Looking the originals, they donīt look soft to me, maybe Flickr compression adds some blur. About WB, it was auto. Which one should I use in this case?

Thanks.

Thanks, John, maybe the IS helped (after all is there for something, he, he). I wrotwe the settings above. First I shot in Av mode (f4), then, I realize there was no enough speed, crank up the ISO a little bit and go to manual mode 1/100 f4.

thanks for your comment

foreground in 2 can be improved
last photo background is washed out, but if that was intentional then its all cool

# 1 and 4 for me...4 being my favorite. I like the conversion on that one. Nice motion in # 1.

Anyone else? Hey, you're getting lots more responses than me! :-) With that 50D you should be shooting at least ISO 1600 with tungsten white balance. I prefer the last one.
