Hi All,
I along with the other photographers at Studio49 are setting up. The day is focused mainly around using off axis flash with either studio lights, or "strobist" style lighting (http://www.strobist.blogspot.com/). The Studio is located on Johnston St Annandale. We are thinking for a 10am kick off and go through to approx 1pm with food and drink supplied. the date is the 6th of December
The current arrangement is, 4 sets with 4 different lighting situations to play with;
bare bulb lights
soft box and umbrellas
strobist (flash gun) off axis
natural daylight and soft box fill light with colour balancing
All the equipment is provided by myself and the studio, all you will require to bring is your camera. Any questions that you may have we will also be there to assist you and share some ideas with you.
The day is aimed at gaining a further understanding of how off camera light (either sunlight or lights) affect a photo and the different modifiers you can put in place to achieve a different look. The day is 95% spent on taking photos. The day is there to experiment and build your skills. And also get to play with some lights that you may not have got yes and are planning on getting to try before you buy
We are having a small class of only 8-10 people plus we are getting 4 models in for the sets. The pictures will be yours to keep and do what you would like with them. There is no minimal skill level happy to have anyone who has just picked up a camera and are wanting to learn how to get into some of the more creative modes and then into manual.
The cost for the day is $120, plus if you decide to come back to hire the studio to further your skills for own private shoots, a reduced rate from $100/hr to $75.
If you could let me know if you are interested in attending or know of anyone who would be interested and please feel free to pass on this. Im hoping to finalise numbers come end of this month.
