well i finally got out to put my new 20d through its paces after upgrading from the 300d the other week back,
so it was with some trepidation that i set of on a 400 mile plus trip to capture a shot, that ive tried so many times before to capture and been beaten by the typical scottish weather every time

fingers crossed i headed up the west coast of scotland to probably one of scotlands most photographed castles Eilean Donan on the west coast just before the sky bridge

and yes this time i was rewarded with the ellusive sunset that has avoided me so many times before

heres the results

Beautiful! I was there in 1994-- spent the night at a B&B on Skye.
I cannot get enough of Scotland. Planning on going back next year for the International Sheepdog finals.

Great shots, John and wonderful colours in the sky.
You timed your trip well, the weather can change so rapidly at this time of year.
It was a long way to go but the results were worth it.
I had a look in your gallery and I can tell you the shots of The Buachaille and Loch Tulla are stunning.
I take it you shot these on the same day ?

Great stuff.

The last image is fantastic. If I had taken that picture, I'd blow it up to poster size and hand it on the wall.
