Hi all, just wondering if you can set the focus to infinity on a 300D, and if so, how? Thanks, Ant.

That's done on the lens, not the camera.

If your lens has a focus distance scale on it, turn until you see the infinity (http://id.mind.net/%7Ezona/mmts/miscellaneousMath/infinityAndSymbol/Inf2.gif) symbol. Line that up with the focus mark and you're all set.
If not, generally turning the focus ring counter-clockwise (If you are behind the camera) until it stops will focus to infinity.

Infinity focus basically means focusing manually and setting the focus lens to its longest possible setting.
Turn the lens to MF (instead of AF) before.
Best regards,
Andy

A little caution here. The distance settings on lenses are indicative, not defintie. As the temperature changes, so can the focus point. The infity setting may not be the right one. You will see that you can move the focus beyond that mark. This is because the lens has som additional focusing range built in to allow such tolerances. You are best checking the view through the viewfinder on something visible and distant and then leaving the focus there.
