sorry for this question but I am new to the digital darkroom.

I shot a full moon the other night with my 20D and a 300 zoom. Good shot, perfectly black sky and moon is in focus with good definition.

But.....its to small compared to the size of the large J-peg. I can digitally zoom in and it still has great definition and features.

How/what do I do to get a nice big picture of this moon so it mostly fills a say 8X10 print?

Can't seem top rap my brain around this one! I know the answer will be simple.

any help would be great appreaciated.

Nope, no silly questions. Some not as obscure as others :) !

You are probably looking to crop the picture so that there is less black space compared to the moon.

Done using what ever post processing software that you use.

I call these "senior moments" :D :D

Check the Post Processing Tutorials Sticky at the top of this forum,. I belive there are some good step by step explanations of cropping an image.

Did the same thing couple nights ago when it was full. I used my 100-300 on the Drebel. Cropped it just to leave a black border around the moon and printed on 11 X 14 poster board using Qimage to resample up. Wouldn't stand scrutiny with a loupe, but on the wall looks great. I'm sure you can do better with the 20D.
