I have posted there w/o a problem before but now cannot. I get this message:

twistedlim, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation. Check your registration email mailbox if you've had mail from photography-on-the.net (check spam folders, too!).
If you are trying to reply or post to Glamour & Nude forum, you got to this page because there is a limited posting access there. please read all about it G&N RULES (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=91084)
If you are trying to reply in MARKETPLACE section, you got to this page because reply to ads is disabled. Use Email or PM instead. Please read all about it MARKETPLACE RULES (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30225)I don't understand. I can post on other forums just not the "sell" forum. Help!

Pekka made some changes recently with the marketplace. See here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=584522).

Thanks for the reply TD. I was not aware of this. I frequent so many forums that I really did not realize I needed to have 30 posts or for that matter that I had not made 30 posts. Seems odd though since I have already sold stuff here. Thanks again!

There's basically two reasons for the rule change...

1) To prevent "hit and run" adverts where users only join the forum in order to sell something, or to scam money out of other users here. Having the 30 day rule discourages these users, helping to protect our community here from fraud.

2) To encourage participation in the forum. Our community here is very valued and we'd like people to stick around a while and see what a good place it is.

Thanks Pete, I feel valued;). I understand. I have so much to say and so little time.

No problem.. :D

It may take an hour or so for your account to be updated. Keep trying to place your ad and you'll get through.

See, that wasn't so hard. It only took you two hours to get in your last 15 posts to push you over the top and I hope you had fun along the way  Now you just have to wait for the calendar to roll over.

Reminder: The database resets about once an hour or so, so there is a lag between hitting the post count/time threshold and being granted the permissions. Same goes for G&N. It is all done automatically.
