Hi I am new to the board so I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong area. My husband just bought me this camera and I am just learning how to use it. This is my 1st Canon camera. So far I love it. I haven't been able to take many pictures I am waiting for my new memory card. I just got ordered a 4MB card. Does anyone know how many pictures I will be able to get with that card? Any reviews or tips on my camera would be great.
Thank you for your time.

I have had my SD1100IS for many months and really love it.
I also have a 4GB memory card. If taking photos Superfine you can get around 1138 and with Fine setting you get 1879. You can play around with the pixel settings. See page 68 - "Changing the Recording Pixels" in your User Manual.
Go to this link for a very detailed review of this camera:

There is a dropdown box near the top of that page that takes you through lots of different tests that they have done with the camera, shows you the results and gives lots of helpful advice.
Happy reading, then go out and start enjoying your great camera.

Great camera, and the price has come down about $50 from when I purchased it. I have a 16GB card that I purchased primarily to take video (5-1/2 hours!!) for business purposes. It has no problem reading it either. Unfortunately the battery will not last that long. After all what good is being able to take 4000 photos. 2GB is probably plenty with this camera if you don't plan to use the video feature, but the 4GB are so cheap now it's an easy decision.
If I have one complaint about the camera it's that the lens is not short enough(wide angle zoom is not enough). Also typical of most point and shoots they are painfully slow.

Great camera...youre gonna love it! I loved mine so much that I got both my mom and dad one for gifts.
4GB will be MORE than enough memory for this camera. As with all digital cameras, make sure you download pictures to your computer often because SD cards can malfunction causing you to lose pictures. It would be a shame to lose several weeks or months of pictures due to a malfunctioning card!
