I know this has been cover to death, but I am looking to buy a second Memeory Card before Air Show season starts for me.
I have an IBM 1G MicroDrive now, it works finew with my 10D. I am wondering if I should stay with a MicroDrive or not?
The SanDisk II 2 & 4G have caught my eye, would I be better with one of them?

Thanks

Standard CF's are more reliable than MD's. I have both. Get the CF. SanDisk rocks.

Personally I stay with solid state cards, in case I drop them. I consider them more reliable than cards with lots of small movings parts. Sandisk Ultra II are my choice of cards, I have 2 and they're perfect. before you format it check to see if they include recovery software on the card.

I just got a 2GB microdrive. Hard to beat for 100 bucks. My first MD and waiting to see how it lasts. Dropped it last night and batted ti around trying to save it form hitting the floor. Thought I toasted it, but to my surprise and pleasure, it is still working.

Thanks everyone.
It looks like most would choose the CF over the MD. Since I only have the one MD I really have never had it out of the camera much, that keeps me from dropping in.
I am looking at the SanDisk Ultra II 2g, that should do me just fine.

Thanks again.

My 10D originally came with an IBM 1GB microdrive. It has never failed me. I also picked up a Hitachi 2GB MD simply because the price was absolutely silly low. Normally I only buy CF cards, they have the reputation of being much more reliable but I have only had one card fail and that was a CF card. I tend to use them alot more than the MD which are reserved for last resort use.

Spend the extra $$ on the CF, you won't regret it.

I'd rather pay extra for a solid state drive that could survive a trip through the washing machine, than one with moving parts that may or may not survive a drop or knock.

Sandisk Ultra2 is where my money goes.

6 Gig micro drive....DROOL

They make 8GB CF cards if you want to pay enough, so why are you drooling over 6?
