12 wonderful years but this monday it was time to say goodbye. It is not an easy thing to do. Shayna was a Canaan Dog ( a feral recovery breed from Isreal) She was only 2 generations from being a wild dog. She was always very reserved almost cat like at times. You had to earn her love and trust. She was my friend and my wife and I will miss her dearly. Hold on to your buddies their life goes by to quickly.

Sorry for your loss. It's hard to lose a great friend, human, canine or otherwise. Find comfort in memories of good times.

It is never easy to lose those that we love....and I believe you captured that love perfectly in your image. Shayna will always be with you...look deep into your heart...she left her footprints there.

Prayers for peace for each of you. What a short time they spend with us, but how much joy they pack into every day.
And unconditional love - what a legacy.

I'm so sorry :-( It's such a sad time, but the love and fun they bring to our lives make the heartache worthwhile - though it might not feel like it right now.
Run free Shayna, knowing how much you were loved.

This shot is very powerful. I am an animal lover as well and have had a couple of beloved animals be taken away and they were pretty young. 12 years would be such a huge emotional attachment, i feel sorry for your loss. :(
