A couple more shots from todays outing. Feedback wanted please. Shot with D20 and 100-300 F4 Sigma. Seems like a had to use the histogram/level tool in elements on mostly all of the shots. They all seemed a bit on the dark side. Should I aim to work with Exposure Bracketing? Or set manual WB on drairy days? If I work with Exposure Bracketing it's really taking time and with moving animals....Any suggestions? Has anyone else having to make adjustments with longer lenses? Hey and thanks to all the forum members giving me feedback on this choice of the lens. I do like the way the Sigma works with the USM and it focuses really quick without a lot of noice. Now I just have to learn to work the controls faster(WB, Exp.Bracketing etc)

The second picture the head seems out of focus. It seems to be focused on the body... DOF must have been small, can't get them all I guess.

I shoot in Tv mode probably >90% of the time when going after wildlife. AF is also used >90% of the time. I use manual focus if for example I am trying to shoot a small bird in a lot of branches or there isn't much light and I don't want to bump up the iso. I also try to get the face well focused and exposed. The only times I've done exposure bracketing has been some landscapes. Hope this helps some. Hopefully, some of the more experienced forum members will jump in.

Thank You for the feedback. Fills you are so right:oops: , I think, I may have uploaded the wrong image (Had several off them since the little flirt just kept looking at the cam.) I hope I am going to get better at it, like 90% of shots useful. That's at least the goal I am after for now. Manual focus mode, hmmm, I always used to manual focus, but now with the 40s eyesight:rolleyes: I don't trust myself to much on it anymore. I will just have to practice, practice, practice..... Just stay with me for giving more tips, it really, really helps.:D

Really cute shots, the first is great, have to agree that the second is a little out of focus. Cute none the less. :) :)
