These are some really good shots. Did you shoot RAW or a Custom White Balance?

Great shots, I like number two and five the best though.

I definitely like number 2 the best. The colors are great. I'm also curious... what was the white balance setting?

These are really good, RinkRat. Gotta love that Tamron.......

#4 and #5 are my favorites. #3 would have been a great shot from the opposite side if we could see their faces, but it's still a good capture.

Well done.

Indoor sports pics can be a real challenge. Those seem to be some pretty good shots.

skyphix & Fills: Yes, they are RAW, AND I accidentally forgot to reset my Custom White Balance from the day before.(taking pics of my 4mo old daughter). It just took a few extra minutes in PSCS to correct it.

I need to tape a "camera checklist" to the back of my camera, so that doesn't happen again.

Thank you everyone. I'm pretty happy with the pictures.

Although, I would love to have been shooting them with a 70-200 2.8L. ;)

Maybe I'll rent one for next time, & show the wife how it would be "worth it" to buy one.

Well, that's news to me. I was told it did.

Thanks

Custom White Balance and RAW...

Mmm... well it doesn't affect RAW images, but then again it does.

Here's how it works. The RAW file contains the unprocessed picture data that the sensor "sees". It also holds information such as any custom white balance settings, sharpness, contrast, saturation settings etc. Canon's conversion software such as DPP, FVU or EVU will, by default, apply the settings in force at the time the picture was taken during conversion. So... the image data in a RAW file is unaffected by any custom white balance, but it also does affect the way a converted image turns out... unless you change the white balance settings before conversion of course.

Good point Cadwell. Although the RAW "data" is unaffected, I didn't think about the CWB info being used during the RAW conversion. Thanks.

Thanks aam1234. That's my favorite as well.

Cadwell: Thank you for the explanation. I knew there was a reason the picture's WB was screwy.
