Just wondering why there is no separate forum for Black and White pictures and the likes? I know the subject of the pics fits into all the categories listed already, but the format makes it an entirely different world of Photography to some.
Just a question I've been wondering, that's all.

I expect this post will get moved in a moment, but nevertheless I agree that black & white warrants its own section. The fact that it gets a mention as part of this forum section title identifies it as a worthy discipline in its own right.

I know I technically did, but I guess when I see "B/W & Experimental" its almost as if its treated as a leftover topic.

Yeah I realized after posting, that it should have gone in the discussion forum.

It was good when Martin Henson was more active on here. He hasn't been around much lately though.
I know he has his own website and forum to look after (http://www.digital-monochrome.co.uk/), but POTN would certainly benefit from his continued contributions.

I dont see the need, you can post any back and white photo in any other forum.

I know that people who are really into B&W see it as a separate and distinct category of it's own, but to me it's not. (Not that my opinion has any sway, of course) As an example, I like a good B&W as much as anyone else, but to me a picture of a barn in B&W is a picture of a barn and belongs with all the other barns.

I agree with D4ve.
Often you will see the same image posted in b&w and color. Having them separated by subject matter makes it easier to locate types of work you may be interested in.

Glad you brought that up...exactly what forum would you post said barn in?

Post the image, IMO it depends on the original intent.
Nature & Landscapes
Urban Life & Travel
Still Life, B/W & Experimental
None of these actually say Barns to me but I could see how an image of a barn might fit into each of these categories.
by the same argument I would say a B&W wedding image still belongs in the wedding category.

That was the point... barn, wedding, whatever... B&W is secondary.
