Shot with 1D MkII, 200 f/2.8 w/ 1.4x Canon TC.

1/125sec, f8, ISO 200, Manual Mode.

Not too bad at all. Personally, I would've use the rule of shutter speed equal to or greater than Focal Length. At nearly 300mm you want at least 1/300th of a second I gather, so I might've opened the aperture a bit and perhaps gone to ISO 400 or 800. Check out this Moon Calculator (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=593297&highlight=moon+calculator)thread, which details good settings for shooting the moon. (Though saying that, your exposure is just right I think.)

Also, if my FL is a little limited, (with a lens I can only go to 200mm at the moment), I like to try and get something else into the image, to help frame it a bit.
