Pekka or others,

I saw a post about ways to organize the index page if it becomes too large. Does anyone have a good way to do this? I've about 20 exibitions and would like to separate them into public and private. I know I can password protect individual exibitions, but then they are not visible from the index page.

I would like to have 2 index pages, one private and one public. I suppose I could just make 2 instances of the database and put a password on one of the directories, but then I would have to duplicate the camera attributes etc...

Thoughts?

Oh and I love this program, the best of it's class. Thanks much for the effort!

thanks,

Spence,

I'm a bit busy now to code it (I try to get 1.3 RC2/multilingual) ready before sunday (10 day tour to england). But there is quite a simple way to code EE to have separate index pages for different passes. For example if you have some exhibitions under pass "publicXX" they could have their own indexpage just using

http://photography-on-the.net/gallery/index.php?pass=publicXX

So if you can wait about 20 days I'll do the code (it has been on to do list).

Pekka,

That makes sense...no rush...I'm having enough fun as it is.

Thanks!

Any news on this?

or is there a way for the page generated by:
>if you have some exhibitions under pass "publicXX" they could have >their own indexpage just using

to retain the pass so vistors can click -through to the galleries. As it stands, they get a:

[ REQUESTED EXHIBITION DOES NOT EXIST / IS NOT AVAILABLE. ]

Required exhibition is not available "

message when the exhibtion name is clicked on.
