RED has just released the specs and pictures today of their new range of digital video/cameras. Pretty amazing stuff inlcuding a 6x17 format back at 261 mp! Anyways took some stills of the main bits of the RED brochure which I thought were pretty interesting:

i was always under the impression that the reason why there isn't a camera which can mount any lens is because of some stupid patent restrictions...

maybe it isn't after all - they can mount different lens types via interchangeable lens mounts...

well... the reason canon or nikon dont like to use other lenses is due to Sales.... but i mean sigma etc make lenses for our bodies.

same thing goes with digtal film and motion picture film but i think its more lenient as u can get different mounts and mount a variety of lenses.

Red is giving the big goys a run for their money.

I am a panasonic guy, but with the next red coming out @ 7 grand i might conside, been following JAnnards work since he announced his idea few years ago. Great innovator for sure.

RED is truly revolutionary. what boggles me is how using such a large sensor as the 186x56 mm doesn't lead to crazy distortion seeing as how the diameter of lenses used is way smaller than the length of the sensor. i'd be interested to see some results.
