Hi people, I'm currently looking at getting a bag like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Digital-D-SLR-Neoprene-Pouch-Cameras/dp/B00011CS1M/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

Something that I can carry around with me and is form fitting so that it doesn't take too much space. As a beginner, I only have my kit lens to work with and nothing else so I don't need a big bag - just something to protect my camera while I go on walk with the camera strap around the neck.

Any have experiences with cases like these? Any one know of better options available?

Why not just get a small holster bag or something? I've never quite understood getting just that. At least the bag is still on you, where do you put it when you're shooting?

I have one and when my camera is in storage or just hanging (by the strap, of course) on a hook in my media room it's in that pouch. I also have a holster bag (Lowepro 75) for use. If you get the pouch I suggest you go to B&H website and see the different sizes available. You want to get the right size.

A holster case like say a Lowepro Topload Zoom 2 or something would be A LOT better at protecting your camera as well as offer a bit more storage space.

This pouch has a strap that attaches the the camera so when you take it off, it kinda dangles on the camera.

It hangs on you holding extra batteries, memory cards, or what not.
