If I had $65million for an apartment I don't think I'd care what the pics looked like. I'd just have my entourage go check the place out and document it for me.

No, way, with pics like that I'd only pay $55 million.

Surely with the commission the realtor is going to make he could have spent up big on professional shots, however I suppose the best view available of Manhattan is what sells.
What would the commission be on $65M?

That is some gaudy ass decorating right there. You'd think $65MM might buy some taste.

I've got a friend who's a multimillionaire who has a condo downtown vancouver that costs 14 million. That thing was amazing. This though...65 million for THAT? It looks like a load of crap. 30 000 $ a MONTH in taxes and mainteance? *shudder* I don't care if you are a billionaire but if you're stupid enough to buy that ...you won't be filling out any mensa application forms, thats for sure.

hehehe my name actually is Alex as well... at that price I'd guess your friend either lives in the Shaw Tower, Harbour Green, or possibly west of Denman in one of the smaller older buildings with penthouses that have been restored.

I think the view alone would sell the property - the interior shots are really quite bland, though I agree that anyone with any sense would ignore the pics and check it out for themselves.

don't think the photos are going to have much to do with selling this condo. If you are in the market for a $65m roof top you probably don't have too many to look at.
Now where top notch photography will be a factor is in the $250k homes that are all over.
These shots are not that bad either. I am sure the Realtor placed emphasis on the outside views.
That said if any of you will offer $55m I will accept.

Hey Guys
The best view of NY (IMHO) is the one you get in the rear vision mirror!!!
Apologies in advance to those who chose to live ther. But for me even $65M isn't worth it.
After all, its just some where to hang you hat, cook a meal, take a bath/shower and sleep. Can't see $65M worth in that equation!

2 to 3% typically.. but not sure about when the price is this high.

I see your point, if the listing agent is going to do business in that realm, they should hire a decent photographer, not shoot it themselves with their camera phone. Composition people, PLEASE!
At least we have a pretty good idea what color the sky is in that neighborhood. :D

OK, now let's get the the real point. The pictures are crap but how would YOU shoot it? I'm experimenting with interior photography and lighting large rooms is one of the biggest challenges. I've experimented with flash modifiers that simulate bare bulb effect but I'd really like to know how the pros would lite this room.

Crank the ISO, balance the interior with the exterior, and get the fill flash off camera. Composition on a few needs to focus on the interior details e\better. $200,000 houses get 20 to 25 pictures on the net. A video tour or pana would be something that you could do for $200.
