Will changing domain name affect EE?

Before your trip, I would like to confirm with you on this question.

I would like to change my current domain name that hosts EE (pengrus.com) to a new domain name (pengs.us). I have contacted my web hosting company and they told me that it is very easy for them to change the main domain name without having me to do any transfers on the EE exhibitions. As a result, the pengs.us will become the main domain that contains EE, and any hits on pengrus.com will be directed to pengrus.com.

Do you think this is the case? I would not need to do any transfer or modification on MySql or exhibitions?? On what items should I be very careful?

If you just change a domain name, all you have to do is to change paths in path editor to poist to the new domain. Also, you may have to change server name in connect.php and EE Backup's preferences.php (mostly the server name there is localhost, though)

OK. The server won't change. Does it matter if I change the path BEFORE or AFTER the web hosting company change my domain name? I will not lose anything like the counter info, right?

I guess I need to take the EE offline in MISC setting first, then make the path changes.
