Can anyone recommend a suitable slave flash for S20?

What is a slave flash? Do you mean a spare
flash card?

It's an external flash. I don't know exactly how it works with a digital camera. For traditional cameras, the external flash has a wire plugged into the camera so that it will synchronize with the camera's built-in flash. I was wondering if such flash can be attached to the S20. With the additional flash, it helps to add lights to the pictures.

Oh, sorry, I mistook it as Flash memory.

You can use a slave which triggered by a camera flash. I has a built in optical detector normally and need not to be connected to camera. If you are looking for something that can be connected to s20, I suggest you to look for slave flash with a bracket. You can check this website:

Picture no 2 is a without bracket but very small the other is with bracket. Other thing you need to ask is their range, given normally in ISO100 value. If you find the number is ridiculously high, just divide the number with s20's aperture value. Just a personal experience of being laughed by shopkeeper :) when I asked them how come a small slave can reach 18m
