I had the opportunitity to Shoot some models last week.

All is natural light and in a couple pf shoots camera's fill flash.

Equipment: Canon Digital Rebel, Canon 50 1.8mm, Canon Kit Lens and Sigma 70-300 APO Macro Super II.

It was fun !

natural light is without a doubt the best IMO. Why? Because it is natural. Lovely shots. I wanna go back and shoot more outside, but it started snowing again :(

LEC_D30.

I hate you! No one should be allowed to get a line up of georgous girls like that and then make such a competent job of photographing them with fairly basic equipment.

One thing is for certain: You have no hope of winning any lottery ...

Actually .. nicely done. One day ....

I also love natural light... and shooting beautiful models of course.

I think is not really matter of what SLR you are using but how the light is used to get the results you want. Is not as easy as it sounds always, but practice does help a lot.

Lovely work. Excellent setups for most of the shots. You've made them interesting beyond the obvious subject matter!

Beautiful!
Did you use any sort of fill lighting, from a flash or reflector? Or is that really all natural?

There are some great shots of beautiful women in there, well done :)

There are a few that would benefit from more light, IMHO:

My $0.02. Again, nice pix :)

The shots were taken in South Texas.

I used a basic golden/silver reflector in some of the shots to kick some light where I needed. I would hold it with my left hand or with my foot. Sometime a partner would also help me or even the model.

Only the model in blue and red at the balcony (not full body) and the model with B&W socks at the iron wrought door were shoot with the Sigma 70-300. The interior shoots wer taken with the kit lens (18-55 mm) and the rest with the 50 1.8mm.

LEC!!! where do you live? South Texas meaning South Padre Island? I live in Edinburg which is 45 minutes from there. Would have loved to have gone with you to learn some tips etc. GREAT shots. And yes natural is the best way to go.

Any specific location, I dont recognize some of the buildings . If they were where I think they were.

WOW, a fellow RGV photographer. I dont have a business or anything. I mostly shoot pics as a hobby. I dont thinK I have the experience you have, I've only been shooting for about 2yrs. Nature is mostly my thing. YOu can see my website at www.rubenzamora.com.

Wonderful pictures ! I have some (very limited) experience with model photoshoots, but never succeded to achieve that kind of lighting quality. You have very good eye for light and composition.

Thanks for yor comments Olegis.

I had my fist photoshoot last year and if I have to grade my results, most of them were far from being good. I posted them in sites like this and received a lot of good advice from different people. I tried to use my new learnings on this last photoshoot. Overall I am very happy with the results. Still, I know that there is a long way to go for me to be a real pro on Photography.
I will keep trying and learning as much as I can. One day maybe...

LC
