I bought a D60 a few weeks ago and began having huge difficulties when it was attached to my strobes--refusing to shoot, then wouldn't turn back on, then wouldn't turn off! I called Canon and they said to check the trigger voltage on my strobes--the camera can't handle anything over 6 volts! This problem is intermittent--random--unpredictable. Taking out all the batteries and letting it "reset" would get me a few more shots before it started happening again.
I checked the trigger voltage on my strobe sync cord--9 volts. Then my Vivitar 285 flash--10 volts. Is anything other than Canon stuff below 6? Does anyone else have problems with sync to studio flash? I still wonder if the camera is just faulty. I don't know if I believe that anything at that low voltage would cause all these problems. Most cameras can take much more voltage. Some flash units put out over 200 volts!
