I've had some time off recently and decided to revisit old shoots to see if I could make some of them shine more than they did when I first processed them. A big part of this undertaking is because of the beta camera profiles in Lightroom. These things are magic on some of those shots that weren't quite right in the past. Of course there are some shots are beyond help...lol.

Are you ever really finished doing post processing? Or is it a lifetime pursuit for excellence?

I revisited some old photos from 2 and a half years ago yesterday. I no longer had the RAW files but gave the jpgs a bit of a makeover and made them shine a little more. I'd dumped the RAW files for a lot of old shows when I was running out of hard drive space. I won't be doing that in a hurry.

The other week I had an editor request a shot for a cover of a weekly insert in a major newspaper and went back through my archives and reprocessed.

I find looking back at my archives interesting as I can see how much both my photography and post processing skills have improved.

I mostly just get embarrassed when I look at photos from over a year or so ago. I've steered clear of doing manual post-processing work after I'm "done" with a set of photos, but I have similarly re-generated galleries from Lightroom using the new beta camera profiles.

+1
I recently came across some of my older shots when doing a collage and a few prints for an exhibition at Atak.

The old files were so crappy I redid most of the processing from scratch

I still have some bands I haven't processed... from well over a year ago... I keep all files... There still are some reasonable shots left over, from bands I've already processed the 1st time... too many to count right now...

Got an Email from Adorama today. The have a very good brand name 1T external HD for 124 dollars.
