View Full Version : Portfolio...where do I find the actual book?

I'm still very much an amateur. But, I'm getting a few prints made, and I was hoping to get them arranged well in a book or portfolio of some kind. Thing is, it doesn't have to be anything special as I really only will be showing to family and friends. I don't intend to actually use this portfolio to get business. I may use it to try to convince my neighbor to pose for a few shots, but that's really about it.

Do you all have any suggestions on where to get something like this? Keep in mind that I think I've only stepped into a craft store one time in my life, so I wouldn't even know where to start looking if they could be found there. Maybe they can be ordered over the web? Again, doesn't have to be anything special, and I'm definitely not looking to spend like $300 on a nice leatherbound portfolio...least not yet.

Thanks in advance

Go to an Arts and Crafts store, or just an Art store and ask them.

Thanks, Scott! I think I might have found something I really like on that site and for a great price. I got a couple of e-mail messages out to a friend of mine who is a graphic designer. If he doesn't think I can find a better price in town, then I think I'm gonna go for that one!

Thanks again

Well, I talked to my graphic designer buddy, and he told me that I wouldn't find anything for a better price in town. It also seems that it may not be very easy to come across something I really like here in town, so I went ahead and ordered this (http://www.lightimpressionsdirect.com/servlet/OnlineShopping?DSP=50100&PCR=30000:180000:182000:182400&IID=10011) with a pack of pages.

Thanks for the info!

I placed my order on Tuesday with these guys, but unfortunately, I didn't have any visability into the order after I placed it. All I got was a confirmation e-mail message...not even an order number included. So, I called them today, and gave them all the info I could...nothing they could pull up in their computer systems it would seem. The CSR put me on hold as she went to search for the order. A couple of minutes later, she said she found it, the item is in stock, and it should take 7 to 10 business days to arrive.

Alright, that's fine, I can deal with waiting. What bothers me so much is that it seems as though they had somewhat misplaced my order. I really wonder if I would have ever received my order if I hadn't called them to find out where it was.

Not sure I am too impressed with these guys right now.

I know you already ordered but for anyone else looking this is another good place to check out. Very reputable in the art supply world.

Woohoo!! My order shipped. It's coming by USPS, so it may be a while. But, the other shipping options were very expensive...so I decided to go with just mail.
